Terms & Conditions

These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) apply to all quotes, sales and services provided by Window Coatings Pty Ltd (ABN 58 635 324 745) trading as UV Window Coatings (“UV Window Coatings”, “we”, “our”, “us”). By accepting a quote, booking an installation, or using our services, you agree to these Terms.

1. Quotes and pricing

• Quotes are valid for 30 days unless otherwise stated.
• All pricing is in Australian dollars and includes GST unless specified.
• Final pricing may vary if site conditions differ from information provided, or if additional work is required.

2. Payment terms

• A deposit may be required to secure your booking.
• Deposits are non-refundable. If a job is cancelled, the deposit will be applied to cover costs incurred.
• Full payment is due on completion of installation unless otherwise agreed in writing.
• We accept payment by bank transfer, credit card, or other approved methods.
• Interest may be charged on overdue accounts at 2% per month.

3. Installation

• Customers must provide safe and reasonable access to the site.
• Windows and surrounding areas should be clear of furniture, fittings, and obstructions.
• We are not responsible for delays caused by site inaccessibility, other trades, or unsafe conditions.
• Installation dates are subject to availability and may be rescheduled in case of weather, safety, or supply issues.
  
  

4. Site not ready for installation

• If installers arrive onsite and the site is not ready, a minimum call-out fee of $220 + GST applies.
• If an installer determines that the site is unsuitable (e.g. excessively dirty) and you request us to proceed, you waive any liability for defects that may result from those conditions.
• If a panel is damaged, broken, or inaccessible and requires a return visit, the minimum call-out fee applies.
• If we are unable to gain access on the day of installation, the minimum call-out fee applies.
• If installers are delayed by more than 15 minutes waiting for access, waiting time is charged at $45 + GST per installer, per hour, billed in 15-minute increments. Installers cannot wait longer than one hour.
  
  

5. Cancellations and rescheduling

• If you cancel a confirmed job, we will apply your deposit to cover costs already incurred.
• Cancellation or postponement of an appointment with less than 24 hours’ notice will incur a minimum call-out fee of $220 + GST.
• If you need to reschedule, please provide at least 48 hours’ notice.
• UV Window Coatings may reschedule or cancel work due to safety, weather, or supply issues.

6. Window film drying expectations

• All films are applied with water and require time to cure.
• During the drying process, water may be visible between the film and glass and can appear as bubbles, streaks, or a hazy appearance. This is normal.
• Drying time is generally 1–6 months, though it can vary depending on the thickness of the film (with security and thicker films taking longer), the type of glass, and the level of sun exposure.
  
  

7. Glass disclaimer

• All care is taken in the application and removal of window films, however UV Window Coatings is not responsible for any glass breakage or damage that may occur.
• Applying film to laminated glass can increase the risk of thermal stress and potential breakage.
• Applying film to coated glass (e.g. low-e) carries a risk of surface damage or failure.
• There is a slight risk of scratching when applying or removing film on toughened glass.
• Pre-existing marks, scratches, or imperfections in glass may become more visible or amplified once film is applied.
• Customers accept these risks when proceeding with installation.
  
  

8. Product and workmanship warranty

• We use genuine window films supplied by 3M and other reputable manufacturers.
• Manufacturer warranties apply to the film itself and are subject to the individual manufacturer’s warranty terms and conditions.
• UV Window Coatings provides a workmanship guarantee for installation.
• Warranty does not cover: damage caused by misuse, neglect, glass faults, structural movement, or alterations after installation.

9. Photos and marketing

• UV Window Coatings may take photos of work completed during or after installation for record-keeping, training, quality assurance, and marketing purposes.
• Customer-supplied photos provided for quoting remain stored for business purposes only.

10. Liability

• To the maximum extent permitted by law, UV Window Coatings is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential loss arising from our products or services.
• Our total liability is limited to the re-supply of services or the cost of re-supply.
• Nothing in these Terms excludes your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.

11. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Victoria.
